Blanchland a unique village By: Jean Lamb On: 29/01/2010 Average Rating: 5.00 YOUR RATING Rated 2 times 0 Comments 517 Views Caption The mediaeval village of Blanchland is a delight to visit whether in the snows of winter or the sunny days of summer. Compactly built around the village square there is much to explore in the village including the Abbey church, the old Schoolhouse now a tearoom, the Abbots quarters now the Lord Crewe Hotel , the local Post Office & shop, Delicatessan, Hat Shop and Art Gallery. The playpark beside the river is an excellent picnic area and there are countless walks in the surrounding area for the novice to the most experienced walker. Well worth a visit at any time of the year! Images Total Images: 4
