Old engines may seem a little . . . . . lifeless, but the contents of this museum come alive all over the place. There are tiny engines, small engines, large engines and huge engines, and the sight of majestic rotation and frantic lever movement is really impressive. You can almost get hypnotised following the logic of the moving parts.

Spread over several buildings, there is lot to see, some of which is usually being built or rebuilt or maintained. There is a large car park, and it all indoors (useful for a rainy day) unless they are having an outdoor event!

Tucked away down little leafy lanes it is not easy to track down. But it is wel worth the effort.
