This is a remarkable museum appealing especially to anyone with an interest in the internal combustion engine, mainly stationary engines rather than from vehicles. There are exhibits of engines from the very earliest days that one has only read about and never expected to see at all, let alone to see them running. It is also very interesting from the point of view of local history becaise many of the engines were built not far away fom the museum. We think of the Manchester area as a centre for textiles but it was also a centre of engine manufacture. Lastly many of these engines are creations of beauty and wonderful craftmanship.

This is a museum run by dedicated enthusiasts. Do not miss it.
